SCHULAMID®

A wide range of modifications makes SCHULAMID® one of most suitable and versatile engineered plastics!

The SCHULAMID® family covers a wide range of engineered compounds based on Polyamide 6, Polyamide 66, Polyamide 612, and Polyamide 12.

SCHULAMID® grades are available for injection molding, extrusion and blow molding. Modified grades are also available for special processing technologies such as GID (gas assisted injection molding), WIT (water injection technology), laser marking and laser welding.

A wide range of modifications makes SCHULAMID® one of most suitable and versatile engineered plastics!

Key characteristics of SCHULAMID® are:

  • High stiffness, strength and temperature resistance
  • Excellent impact resistance and toughness at low and high temperatures
  • High dynamic strength
  • Very good abrasion resistance
  • Hydrolytic stability (special grades)
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Easy processability
  • Excellent electrical properties

All SCHULAMID® product families are available as non-reinforced and reinforced grades in low, medium and high viscosities.

Different fillers/reinforcements such as
glass fibers
glass beads
carbon fibers
aramid fibers
minerals and
nano-composites
are available with varying contents and in different combinations, which influence the rigidity and shrinkage of the final part.

A wide range of high impact modifiers makes SCHULAMID® grades applicable for components requiring highest stress resistance, even at cold temperatures. These are used in non-reinforced and reinforced types.

Modifiers such as
heat stabilizers
hydrolysis stabilizers
lubricants
UV stabilizers etc.
are being used in non-reinforced and reinforced grades to increase specific material properties.

Special grades and modifications such as
lightweight grades, transparent grades, long glass fiber grades, low emission grades, sound and vibration damping, and tribological-modified are available.

SCHULAMID® grades can be provided fully colored in customized colors with narrow color specifications.

Recycled grades based on recycled PA 6 and PA 66 feedstocks help to reduce costs and to protect the environment.

Combinations of all these modifiers allow A. Schulman to develop tailor-made solutions in SCHULAMID®
